Gotta Love These Lads

The Wilson Bros are shooting straight from the hip. They like to see what sticks against the wall. Daily -39 sessions are followed by shenanigans and then more -39's. It's refreshing to see someone capture some of the fun that happens daily in the life of a lifer.

Larkin in the New Zealand News

Waikato's Aaron Larkin closed in on the world No1 men's slalom waterskiing spot by winning his second major of the year.

Larkin captured the UK leg of the Pro Waterski Tour, beating current world champion Thomas Degasperi (Italy) in the final pairing of the head-to-head final at London's Princes Club.

Larkin is now ranked second and could climb to the top spot with one event left in California next month.

We love jumping too!

We love jumping and we love Freddy Krueger. Jumping is the part of or sport that literally takes years before you can truly appreciate wind pressure under your skis. There is nothing like it. We're not deterring you from trying it. Sliding over a ramp for the first time is also something you'll never forget. But flying is something totally different. This view over Freddy's shoulder gives you a completely new perspective of what it's like looking back on a 230+ foot leap. This is no joke and no matter how many years you jump for... well, only a few will ever know this feeling. Enjoy...

Tats for schwag!

We love WaterSki Magazine. Todd Ristorcelli and the crew are always being creative with their contests, so we like to participate. This spring the contest was for the best waterski related ink. Since RadaR Team Shredder Trent Finlayson is the undisputed king of inked skiers, we jumped in the contest with a set of his Vice Gloves and Limited Edition Green Strada Handle for the winner. This ink belonging to Dave Cech (BC, Canada) is certainly of Terry Winter's undeniable style. We're definitely feeling this piece! Nice coverage...

Another Rossi RadaR Window...

The boys at Board Sports in Toronto are getting in the summer spirit with a little Square One window dressing. Rossi is the dude that gets the RadaR side, once again. This life-size image takes him to international window eye candy. Stay tuned for the one that's going up soon in Greece!

Skiers on Skates

Springtime means cross-training. For some of Orlando's resident skiers, ice hockey is the activity of choice. In the last few years, this workout has turned into a fun-loving charity fundraiser between training partners. Divided into teams of Canadians and Americans, the match is something to see. If you're into good causes and like to see your favorite skier or rider do something out of the ordinary, this is a must see! www.orlandohockeyfaceoff.com

Sir Swini, The Sweetest

All of you know Matt Rini. Who couldn't if you're living anywhere near the zip code of water skiing. Yes, he has his own Gold Medal from the World Championships as member of Team Canada back in the day when they took the Title. He has so many more coaching Championships to his credit we won't even start to list them. He's an amazing dad and a husband and the best coach going right now. That's the short story.

What is understated even more than his humble presence leads on; is his dedication to skiing and advancement from a few different directions. He's so great for our sport. He converses with the very best skiers in the world when they have brand new ideas they need a solid opinion on. He is Rossi's number one guy in all of our ski design. No one person rides and gives more input and response than Swini. His daily approach to ski design keeps a level headed focus to our overall theory. He tests gloves and boots and handles and vests and combos and tubes(fun!) and screws and plates and you name it! There is no way we could manage to get a new product on the water without him. He is our formula for success.

The other thing you should know is that after nearly a year of grueling pain and a major knee reconditioning, Swini is back on the water. Back where he loves to be. Back to remembering what he and all of his students love so much... making turns.
It's been a long year. We welcome him back to the water.

Hope you're tired and sore bud! Feel the burn!

Rossi's next Ad

Rossi's new advert encompasses all of his Strada Line of wears. Some of the snapshots are of his projects and some are simply eye candy of that sweet slalom style. There are a few bold statements in the copy, but we think you already know we like it that way. This issue is going to be hitting shelves any day now... You're gonna like the cover if you're feeling this ad....

Not keeping it real... When it WAS Real...

You have got to watch this video, if you haven't seen it. It's filmed at the first ever man made ski lake in the world (Horton Lakes). I think it is impossible to comprehend how different the variables were back then. These guys were going fast and taking chances. Bob and Kris Lapoint's slalom style is so clear, even 37 years ago. These guys are the roots of our sport. It's cool to have it captured like this. Enjoy...

Hannah Wright, New Zealand Ripper

New Zealand waterskier, Hanna Wright is off to a big start in her slalom career. She's just bagged the title of Under 14 Girls Slalom Champ at the OzKiwi Challenge. She's been training with Duncan Hancock and Richard Wood, who speak highly of her future. Expect big things and big scores coming out of this young RadaR Skier. We're feeling a new personal best score before she wraps it up for the season.

Winter Sessions

Chris, Ellen and Aksel out for a mid week ski session at Alta in Utah. Rossi and family spend the winter at over 9,000 ft in their home above the lift lines at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Boots Have Never Looked So Good...

That's for two reasons...
Reason One is on our new FeatherFrame Technology and the completely integrated boot we've built that will change your understanding of how a ski boot should be constructed.
The second is when you put the new FeatherFrame Lyric boots on Krista in a bikini, you get... "Boots have never looked so good!"

Vice Ad coming soon

We thought you would like a preview of what will be in print in the upcoming WaterSki Mag. This shot was taken on the Duwamish River in South Seattle. The building Trent is shredding is an old Boeing manufacturing plant. It's actually built out over the water. Some of the windows were busted out and it felt like the perfect setting for Trent to get a good feel of his Vice captured on reel. Kate Berschauer took the pic from a precarious spot perched under a bridge. The water was frigid and far from clean. It was a "no wake zone", so we had to get the shot quickly and get on our way. Thanks to Jim Maxwell for letting us run his boat in the river and Matt Black for steering us through one of the coolest ski shots we've ever seen.
